Scooter Rental

We have to protect our gear for future renters.  You’ll be asked to provide a copy of a valid credit card, in your name, and your Driver’s License.  There is also a security deposit from $0-$800 depending on a few factors ($1000 for rent-to-own, $800 for premium rental), please read below.

If you provide an active & valid insurance card you can knock $200 off the deposit ($300 for premium), if you provide a 2nd credit card to keep on file, that’s worth another $200 off ($300 for premium).  And lastly, if you provide a current TAMU or Blinn student ID, we can remove $200 from the deposit. You read that right, if you provide all 3, your deposit is $0 (excluding rent-to-own).  Please bring a copy of your current auto insurance card (with you listed as a driver).  The deposit is fully refunded when the scooter is returned in the same condition it left.

Locks, Covers and Storage cases can be rented for a small fee.  The majority of our rental fleet is Wolf Brand Scooters RX50.  We also have limited Genuine Roughhouse and Buddy scooters available as ‘premium’ rentals, the additional cost for premium rentals varies based on rental length.  Contact us or see our “Book Now” link for more details!

A one time Prep Fee of $10 is part of each rental.  This is used to offset our costs of preparing the scooter for your adventure!  It includes things like cleaning, charging or replacing the battery, topping off fluids and filling with fuel (notice, unlike most rental agreements, we don’t charge for returning the scooter on an empty tank).  Rent for a while!  This fee is the same for a single weekend or 4 month rental.

Some of our longer term rentals will require you to drop the scooter off for scheduled maintenance.  If this affects you, we’ll cover it in more detail during the rental process.

Please protect your noggin!  A DOT approved helmet is required to ride a Scoots’ rental.  You can bring your own, rent or buy one from us.

Part of our waiver states that you’re responsible for knowing the scooter laws in your state.  We’re talking about the state in which your driver’s license was issued.  The rules for Texas can be found in our FAQ section.

** Scoots’ Rent-to-Own program requires 12 consecutive payments of $169.99, then your scooter can be purchased for $1000 – which, as it turns out, you paid as a deposit at the beginning of your rental!  Basically, you pay for the first month ($169.99) + Prep Fee ($10) + Deposit ($1000) + helmet if you don’t own one ($60+) when you pick up the scooter, then $169.99 (plus tax) for 11 more months and YOU OWN IT!  The Scoots’ Rent-to-Own program requires a co-signer in all cases.  The co-signer will be required to provide their government issued ID and a Credit Card for deposit.
